Edgar F. Luckenbach, Jr. took over the reins of the Luckenbach Steamship Company from his father, Edgar F. Luckenbach in 1960, reorganizing the company by removing unprofitable routes of intercoastal trade and adding the ships to routes serving the international charter shipping market. Simultaneously Luckenbach expanded the shore side business aspects of the company.
Edgar F. Luckenback, Jr. was born in 1925 in New York, served in the Navy, and died in 1974.
